I think so now, but when I first saw it I was surprised how
different he was to what I imagined.
I don't know why but I always imagined him looking like the guy
from Iron Giant lol don't ask why.

I must have just watched the movie before reading the book or
something, I don't think he's described anything like this in
the book so I dunno why I imagined it like that.

Haha, no I don't think he's described like that. Sandy brown
hair, patchy clothes or something like that.
Many people complain about the fact he's not Ewan McGregor or a
super model. Remus Lupin is on my top 3 when it comes to Potter
characters, and David plays him wonderfully in my opinion. In
fact, I think he's perfect for the role. Such a shame he
didn't get more scenes from the book, he would have nailed them.
I'm sure. David as Lupin really seems like an
intelligent, sweet, calm and caring man. Just like Lupin is.
And he has a very gentle and nice voice.
I didn't really have a clear picture of how Lupin looked like.
But as soon as I saw David in Prisoner of Azkaban, I just
thought he was the perfect choice.

See, I imagined Lupin completely different. When I first saw
David Thewlis I was surprised. I didn't get annoyed or anything,
but I wasn't very happy with it. However, after seeing the
movie, I became okay with it. He does a fantastic job embodying
Lupin.
I still remember exactly how I imagined everything the first
time I read the books. So on my rereads, Lupin is just how I
imagined him.
But I have to agree that I wish they gave Thewlis more to work
with and more of a story. If only to do the character justice.

I don't remember how I visualized him when I first read the
book, I only remember thinking he was perfect after seeing the
movie. I can't imagine anyone else playing him. Sirius as well.
