Has anyone heard about this? God, I really hope she doesn't do
it. She is so much better than that.

I heard that, but I think they were dismissed pretty quickly.
The movie will probably be better than the books. I haven't read
the books though...It would be a surprising role that would get
people thinking of her as an adult and not 'Little Hermione'.
But I agree, it would be a bad move for her overall career.

I think she's smart enough to know that this would not be a good
movie to be a part of. She's got plenty of work coming up (I'm
still hoping she'll be in Del Torro's Beauty and the Beast) so I
don't think this rumour will turn into anything.

I highly doubt she'd do it. She's been working with some pretty
impressive directors lately (Sofia Coppola, Aronofsky, Seth
Rogan), and 50 Shades is not the logical next step.

I think she's said/implied in many interviews that she's not
really interested in roles like that :p

I too feel that she shouldn't take the role but for an entirely
different reason.
I haven't read the book but from what I've heard, it's a very
intense role and requires a similarly intense performance. I
don't think Watson will be able to do it, talented though she
is. It would be better if they have some different actress for
the role who can give that much intensity similar to Rooney Mara
in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
