How do you rank the films now?

It's been about a year since Part II has come out. Is Part II
still as great as it was to you when it came out? Did you not
really like it at firs and has it grown on you?
For me:
01. Prisoner of Azkaban
02. Deathly Hallows: Part I
03. Deathly Hallows: Part II
04. Half-Blood Prince
05. Sorcerer's Stone
06. Goblet of Fire
07. Chamber of Secrets
08. Order of the Phoenix
Prisoner of Azkaban will always be my favorite Potter film. I
just find it so perfect and love it like no other. It's a very
important film to me. Part I has gained more love through
rewatches. I have never found it boring or painfully slow like
others have. I love watching the trio fall apart and go insane.
The scenes with the locket (more notably when Ron goes mad and
leaves) are arguably the best acting of the series by the trio.
And this film is shot and scored so damn well. Only complaint I
have is that I wish they had made it a little scarier. Part II
lost a couple of spots for me becaue it does seem like the
battle is a little weaker than should have been. This was
something I actually liked when the film came out. I defended
them leaving it in the background and focusing on the characters
but the more I watch it, the more I wish they did show more of
the battle. Still love the fuck out of it though.

I'm constantly switching my top two spots. I probably like them
both equally. But it almost always goes like this:
1. PoA
2. DH1
3. HBP
4. DH2
5. OotP
6. PS/SS
7. CoS
8. GoF
I wasn't as crazy about Part 2 as everyone else was a year ago.
But I loved Part 1 and its really held up for me. Like if I was
combining DH into one movie and ranking the films, I'd still put
in in the #2 slot because of how good I think Part 1 is.

PoA
Part II
HBP
Part I
OOTP
SS
CS
GOF
Part II and HBP are interchangeable for me. I think what turned
me off of Part I was lack of conclusion and I know it's not
supposed to have a resolution but I never was able to get past
it not feeling like a full movie. I think Part II is super
cheesy in a lot of parts (Neville's speech, Harry's speech to
Snape, flying Voldemort and Harry) BUT it more than makes up for
it with the Prince's Tale and the Forest Again/King's Cross.

Part II – 8.5
Order - 8
Half-Blood Prince -7.5
Part I/Azkaban – 7.5
Stone – 6.5
Goblet - 6
Chamber - 5
I find Part II the most entertaining film, I think it does a
good job telling a story about devotion and conveys those themes
well The passage between the shield going up and Harry's death
is probably the best and most creative film-making in the
series. It has its flaws, a lot of them carried over from the
previous films, but I just find it a really stratifying and
cathartic conclusion.
Order, I think, does a really good job of telling story about
Harry's isolation and tonally, the film is perfect. It's
probably not the most well-made, but I find Yates/Goldenberg did
a fine job condensing the bloated source material. Also, the
characterizations are excellent. Part I is lacking any kind of
cohesive arc, the film, while very well made technically, just
suffers from being too unfocused and wanting momentum, and the
adaptation process was marred by a desire to please fans (the
mirror, Bill and Fleur etc). As for Azkaban, I've never been a
fan of the climax, it just bores me beyond reason. I like the
first half well enough, it's a lot of fun, but after 'Buckbeak's
'execution'...I'm out. Prince looks gorgeous, and again has a
lot of excellent scenes but I'm just not a huge fan of the that
story, I just find the plot to be a little boring. The ending is
also really underwhelming...but the Cave is brilliant.
Stone...well, I have a big of a nostalgic appreciation for it
and I think Columbus did do a really good job at capturing the
sort of wonderment and magic of Rowling's world. But it's still
a very bland, over-long and film that fails to actually tell any
kind of story. Goblet, as far as I can remember, is basically a
mess with a few fun set-pieces. I think it's very unfocused,
storylines often fall by the wayside, characters are portrayed
as caricatures. Bleh.
And Chamber? I can't actually sit through it.

PoA- It is beautiful and awesome but I can't never get over the
butchering of Ron's character and Hermione being too out there,
though that's always Kloves.
