Is the shaky cam really that bad?

I've been reading a few reviews and the number one complaint I
keep reading is the "shaky cam is awful and nearly ruins the
movie!" etc.
Is it being exaggerated how bad it is?
I'm really excited to see this movie now, I just finished the
first book and found it really entertaining and it was a good
length too.

In my opinion, it's the movies biggest flaw by far.

I saw it for a third time yesterday and it really has yet to
bother me.

The shaky cam doesn't bother me so much as the inexplicably
numerous close-ups when a close-up is not needed. But that's
just how Gary Ross shoots stuff, if you've seen his other films.

Hmm interesting, it sounds like I'll just have to make up my
mind about it when I see it, but I think I'll be fine with it.
The acting and faithfulness to the books story sounds pretty
good, so I'm sure even if it isn't the best shot film I'll enjoy
it.

I have seen it twice now and the shaky cam does irritate me at
some point but it doesn't even come near ruining the movie for
me.

Yeah, it irritates me in parts, mostly during action scenes, but
to say that it nearly ruins the movie is a bit of an
exaggeration.

It doesn't ruin the movie, but it does make the final fight
scene damn near impossible to properly comprehend.

I agree with the rest
Doesn't ruin it by any means, it's just kind of distracting

Besides a few pacing issues and whatnot, the shaky cam is
basically the film's only major flaw. Which is why you're
probably reading about it everywhere.
