Lucius/Narcissa

My obscure shipping favourite. Somehow I was always more into
them than Harry/Ginny or Ron/Hermione. I think i'm just drawn to
the idea that people who are eeeeeeeeeeevil can still have legit
relationships.
Who else? There's like over 50 pages on fanfiction.net (no, I
never go there ::)) so I can't be the only one.

I always saw them more as a couple who only got married because
it was the "proper" thing to do to keep the pureblood lines
going. Who knows, maybe they loved each other, but I always saw
them more as a marriage-of-convenience couple.

Nah Jk said they were actually in love unlike Bellatrix and her
husband. But even before she said that I liked them, just from
Narcissa's dialogue in HBP and then the way she touches his hand
in DH.

I think the Malfoys are definitely an interesting case because
despite all their pureblood psychomania, they actually do have a
pretty loving/nurturing family dynamic. It's ... sweet.

Yeah. I like how Jo developed her characters more by including
that, it makes her characters (and universe) deeper and more
realistic. Than if all the Death Eaters were just completely
evil.
This might sound obvious but re-reading DH recently, I realised
that basically the moral of the story is that the power of love
is stronger than the power of hate. Narcissa's so bigoted but
she would still rather have her son free and live in a world
with mudbloods.
I love that. I love the Malfoys, in general.

Yeah, but they spoiled Draco rotten, LOL.

I'm trying to remember. Was Narcissa shown being bigotted or
was it just the rest of her family?
It was definitely interesting how Rowling showed different
varieties of families producing different results. Like, with
Draco, it was almost like he was more concerned with pleasing
his father than he was pleasing Voldemort. A lot of the
pureblood rhetoric from Draco seemed to be him parroting Lucius.
When it came to brass tacks, Draco abandoned that stuff in a
heartbeat. In the end, Draco's family was what put him a
horrible situation, but it's also what saved him. Narcissa kept
Draco from having to kill Dumbledore and then protected Harry,
and those two things are why we got to see Draco in the
epilogue.
Sorry, I guess that's not exactly shipping talk.

Well, she looked like she could 'smell something unpleasant,' at
the Quidditch world cup when she was around the Weasleys. I
don't think you could be married to Lucius or be friendly withv
Bellatrix unless you supported the cause, and since Draco was
obviously raised according to very specific views on muggle
borns I think we can just assume Narcissa hated them just as
much as Lucius and Draco did.

I got the impression that her expression then was because she
didn't approve of Lucius' plan to go Muggle-torturing, in case
he got caught.
I agree she must have hated them like the rest of her family,
but she clearly didn't feel as strongly about it as the others,
otherwise she'd have become a Death Eater.
Anyway, to get back on topic, I agree, they are an adorable
couple. Probably my favourite out of canon couples, and second
favourite if including non-canon ships.
I really wish we'd seen more of their relationship, especially
in the movies.
