The Epilogue: Yea or Nay?

People are sharply divided over whether they liked Rowling's
epilogue. Who do you think?
I thought it was cute and frothy. Cheesy, yes, but it gave Harry
the happy ending he deserved.

What you said.
Some people thought it was TOO happy, but I'm glad J.K. gave us
a glimpse of Harry's future.

I thought it was the right ending. I'm sure Harry suffered from
post traumatic stress disorder and indulged in some illegal
potion taking, but Ginny prob whipped his a$$ into shape.

I hated the book version but I was fine with the version of it
in the movie. It was definately not as cheesy as expected.

I liked it in both. I like that it showed everything coming
full circle and showed that Harry got to give his kids the
childhood he never got to have.

I liked it in both the book and movie. There's nothing wrong
with a little cheesiness from time to time. :P
I liked it more in the movie, though. It was just precious
watching Dan be so fatherly.

I was thoroughly disappointed when I first read it, it just
seemed to saccharine; but it's starting to grow on me :P

I didn't like it. It clogged my arteries and gave me diabetes. I
guess the whole closure thing was nice, but it read like a
fanfiction. I was more interested in what happened to everyone
after the war and such (I suppose we'll get that in the
encyclopedia), so was a little disappointed with a few pages of
rainbows and butterflies and sending the new kids off to school.
Not to mention the whole names thing was ... just bizarre.
I wasn't a fan of the DH book in general, heh.
I also thought the movie version worked better, definitely an
improvement.

it read like a fanfiction.

That's what I hated so much about it, which is why I think I
liked it so much better on screen. It was the way it was
written, it was terrible. Ron cracking these stupid jokes,
shitty little kids moaning and arguing, people snogging. Ugh, it
was annoying. I didn't mind the book content exactly, just how
she did it.
I loved the film version though.

Not a huge fan of the book Epilogue, the film version I liked a
bit more. I thought it was quite badly written.
