       So...Tara's lesbian relationship...

Was there actually any point to that? I mean, was she even a
lesbian, or just happen to develop feelings for one woman? I
swear, I feel like that was just randomly added in for some
shock value that this show didn't need...at all. It didn't lead
anywhere, and I doubt it'll ever lead anywhere.

There were a few things that led nowhere this season:
       -lesbian!Tara
-Hot Shot fell off the face of the earth: "Jason got gang-raped
and thought he turned into a werepanther, but no, he's totes OK
       now!" The hell?
-This probably doesn't count because it all happened toward the
end and so close together, but there weren't really any
repercussions from Eric going off on Pam for firing that
RPG-thingie. He told her off, she fled and that was that.
Now, by deduction, Pam pretty much has to be the one who let
Russell escape, so that'll spill over into next season.

Oh yeah, the Pam thing will obviously be something that'll carry
on through next season. But I don't think she let Russell out.
She loves Eric (which is the only reason she doesn't just kill
Sookie to get her out of the way/erase her jealousy), so there's
no logical reason for her to release somebody who would kill him
without hesitation. Even in her worst of moods, I can't imagine
her doing that. I'm betting it's a character we haven't even
met yet. Hell, I think it could've even been Nan, or somebody
       from The Authority.
And I'm pretty sure they just wanted to get rid of the Hot
Shot/Werepanther/Crystal plot because they realized that
virtually nobody liked it...or found it even remotely
       interesting.

Only problem with that is, no one knew where Russell was buried
except Bill, Eric, Alcide and Pam. Nan only knew that it'd been
"taken care of," but she didn't know where they dumped him. For
all she knows, they gave him the true death and he's a rotting
       pile of goo.
I'm also curious to see who made Steve Newlin a vampire. THAT
might have been Nan — and her death "freed" him to come after
Jason — but as for letting Russell out, no I don't think it
could've been her. Near as I can tell, Pam's the popular guess,
to get back at Eric for spiting her/pushing her aside for
       Sookie.

She was experimenting? :D Her and Sam I liked together, though
as the actors had great chemistry (and aww when he was flirting
       with her).
       *SPOILER*
I really hope she's dead for good, though, to be honest. What a
frustrating character. Franklin should've been around longer.
