In hindsight, was the wait for two films worth it?

I'd say so, definitely. I remember being annoyed when they split
it, but I don't think it could've been done any other way.

Yes, absolutely. I was never really annoyed by the split. They
would have had to cut out way too much (such as The Prince's
Tale, apparently) had it been just one film.

I think it was for for the second film. Part 2 was everything I
had ever hoped it would be, and don't think they could have done
it if they'd been saddled with the ground that had to be covered
in the first half. Gringotts, the battle, the epilogue. It was
all largely as good as I'd ever pictured in my head, and
normally that wasn't fully the case in the other movies where
they'd had to condense it way down. Plus, it was great that
most of the major characters got a proper farewell, and I don't
think that would've happened had it been one. Heck, Dean Thomas
and Seamus even got their due.

       YES.
I never thought for a moment that it wouldn't be though. As soon
as they announced it I thought that they could do it justice
with about 5 hours to work with
I can't wait to watch them back-to-back as one film! ;D

I wasn't at all surprised when they announced the split. There
is just too many important scenes in DH to cut, and they
couldn't possibly have done the story justice in one film. They
would have had to cut out the Prince's Tale, Godric's Hollow,
and God knows what else. The non-readers would be even more
confused. So yeah, I think it was worth the wait to see it done
       right.

       Yes, definitely.
My non-HP fan parents thought the first movie was boring and
"should've been made into one movie" ::) I'm glad it was split
and it was worth the wait, IMO.

For sure. Gave the series the proper send off it needs.

I remember I was pissed off when they announced the split. I
think it was around the same time they delayed HBP and I started
cursing WB for being money grubbing fools.
Now I'm really glad they did the split. And I think 7.1 is my
favorite of the series even though people said it suffered from
       the split.
And I don't think they could have done any justice with just one
movie (because they're so against 3 hour movies and would have
had to chop everything up to fine bits)

I remember being so mad about WB splitting DH, mostly because it
was going to ruin my perfect collection that I had in mind
(because I'm OCD like that). Now, however, I couldn't imagine DH
being any other way, and I think the two parts were most
definitely worth it. Everything I loved from the book got it's
time to shine in the films. Even if they were brief, they were
still included and done very well.
