       Best Harry Potter Movie

       Hands down.
I also have no problems with Dan's 'HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!' line,
       but that's just me.
Look at the director, actor bond, it's so awesome.

       Agreed ;D
Even though I love Yates, I think Cuaron was amazing as a
director and changed the whole series with this film. I don't
think Yates' Potter films would have been the same without
       Cuaron's POA.

I liked PoA, except for that ... damn ... freeze frame ... at
       the end... >:(

I have to say that I still consider it my favorite as well. DH 1
& 2 are high up there as well so I may have to say that I
       consider all three my favorites.

       Wholeheartedly agreed!
It had magical moments, a genuine style to it that should've
been there from the start and while it had flaws, I was more
entertained by this one than any of the others. This was the
paradigm for the rest of the series.

I love the film, but.........The cross fades and fades to black
really annoy me and so does the 80's freeze frame at the end of
       the film.
Saying all that though. What I think is my favorite part is the
fact that you can hear the ticking throughout the entire time
       turner sequence.

Ehh, it's my least favorite. Poor acting, bad characterization,
awkward lines/script, lame forced humor, lack of Marauders
explanation, the boring Time Turner sequence, and I really don't
think it's any darker than the first two. Style over substance,
if you will. But that's just me. :P

There are a lot of minor things I don't like about the movie but
I like the change of grounds and atmosphere that Cuarón created
that set the tone for the movies to come.

This film is just so good. Cuaron jump-started the series, IMO.
He built on Columbus's basic foundation, threw in some awesome
flare, and then Yates later built on it even further.
I just love Cuaron's eye. And that he really wanted to do the
       characters justice.
When I first saw it I was beyond pissed at what was cut (since
it's my favorite of the books), but I couldn't stay angry at it.
       It's just so good.
       And speaking of director/actor bonds:

“Prisoner of Azkaban remains my favourite film by far, I think
largely because of Alfonso. He believed in me and pushed me and
I think this was the first time I was really able to feel the
emotion of the character. I was able to look at Hermione and see
her strengths and her passion and not just her love of books and
rules. I think this was when I really fell in love with the
character and that was all because of Alfonso.”- Emma Watson

My favourite movie too (though DH part 1 is extremely close)
There are some really stupid moments (the freeze frame ending,
the bird smiting Whomping Willow, Harry using magic at the
Dursleys) but there's just so much awesomeness it mostly
       overrides the bad stuff.
I've never found 'He was their friend!' to be awful. Just how
are people expecting him to deliver the line?
The time turner sequence stands out as my favourite scene in any
HP movie. I remember re-reading the book for the first time
after having watched the movie a few times, and being a bit
disappointed, because it was just so much more interesting in
the movie, and I'd nearly forgotten that it was different in the
       book.
I also love the Shrieking Shack scene. At first I was pissed
about how short it was and how much they left out, but now I
       love it anyway.
I still wish they'd kept in the Marauder's backstory of course,
but even without it, it's an amazingly enjoyable movie that I
can watch over and over without getting bored. Even the cheesy
Knight Bus scene, I still grin all the way through ;D
