"Above all, my oath was not sworn lightly." Mikhail holds her
glowering gaze and his voice was both firm and steady. In the
molten dance in his gaze was appreciation, not perhaps for what
was going on, but for the way anger made her usually cold beauty
glow magnificently.

Amaris had been waiting at the gate and opened it upon hearing
Natalya's words. She ran past the blonde and full force into
Mikhail , wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him
quickly before whispering in his ear.
"You did so good! Captain Vladimirovich."

Mikhail blinks a few times as the sudden change takes hold and
what was going on registers. "I'll be wh..." he suddenly had an
arm full of Amaris slamming into him. Sliding a foot back and
his shield arm around the dark haired beauty whose mouth
suddenly and eagerly occupied his attention, he looks from her,
to the captain and then to the 'ice maiden' with the core of
fire. "Don't tell me you are retiring already sir..." said in
half jest as a smile dawns "...but I am honored all the same.
Can you join us?" He asks the Captain but glances at Natalya,
clearly the true power here.
Turning Amaris with his shield arm he nudges her forward and
keeps the shield to her back...clearly the troubles of the city
hadn't totally fled his mind and as he wasn't set to stand
watch, he'd rather she were back behind his walls. Dipping his
head he whispers "why do I feel like you had some knowledge of
this already, my beautiful trouble maker?" This last was said in
tones of deep amusement without a trace of anger, no that
seemingly boundless mirth was back.

She smiled over her shoulder at him
"I knew only that Lady Svyatoslav had something in mind for
you...I did not know what. However, I trust her implicitly, so I
did as she asked."
She laughed at the wolves
"And you each just had a small child!....such gluttons..."
She turned to walk backwards, grinning at him
"Igor is going to be so proud he might burst...."

Closing and barring the gate behind them all he shakes his head
"women making plans for me, I should be more wary" this was
pitched for Amaris and said with s grin.
Seeing the wolves acting like overgrown hound pups for Natalya
he stares, first at them and then at the woman herself.
Interesting company he had fallen in with, highly so. Setting
the shield down he quips "it's good that you are here then isn't
it, I can help you stuff him back together."
Stooping to grab the kvass bottles that had been left in the
ground he goes to the kitchen door and opens it. Bowing this
guests he sweeps his arm towards the open door "welcome, one and
all, to our humble home."
The smells that come from within are a cornucopia of delights,
particularly if old fashioned slavic cooking...mixed with some
of the unusual spices here available of course...was to your
liking. The main kitchen table, now adorned with a fine red
cloth, was groaning under the dishes. Baked bread bowls swimming
with fresh vegetables and bubbling cheese, rounds of yet finer
cheese, platters of herbed fish, soups as dark as blood,
steaming fresh bread, a roast pig and more...from finger
dainties to jewel like fruits. Mikhail and his household had not
held back or skimped on the production of the feast. The usual
benches had been hauled out and most of the chairs, made more
finely, from the rest of the house had been brought down to
serve for seating.
As he'd opened the door Mikhail had swept the inside of the
kitchen and flashed a smile of encouragement to those already
within.

*as she went to the women and gave each a kiss on the cheek*
You have done well for him. Please keep up the good work and
you good Sir you seem to have trained him well
*She gave Igor a kiss on his cheek*
Now all eat up and enjoy and have a good time

She smiled and laughed softly,
"Women will always make plans, it matters only they the right
one makes your plans. And I will gladly re-stuff and stitch Igor
back together whenever he needs."
Curtsying to him, she steps over the threshold and into the
room. The food smelled like her childhood home and it made her
heart ache for things she had lost..but only a moment. She
stepped to the side and let Mikhail go past her as she stayed
back near the door and watched the scene. She was elated for him
and knew he would make a fine captain of the guard just as
Natalya had suspected.
And Natalya, she was equally happy to see her up and back to
herself again. She watched as she greeted everyone, the serving
girls giggling and Igor blushing...either from the kiss, the
praise, or likely both. She leaned back against the door frame
and tucked her hands into her sleeves . She watched, a smile on
her lips and only a small ache in her heart.
