She crouched down to be nearer to his height, not towering over
him. She smiled softly
"You seem to enjoy the kits the girls have brought with them. Do
you think you would like to have a pet of your own?...do you
think the others would like to have pets as well?"
She wanted to make him happy..happier than he was usually at
least. If this would help she would get him a pet of his
own...each of tem a pet of their own."

"What is too much trouble? Getting a pet?.... having a
pet?...taking care of something else? I think almost anything
that I can do to make you happy would be worth it."

Mannix watched from where he was, even as he watched the
children. He new, but he wasn't going to say anything, not yet.
Let her try. He could be wrong.

She used her blood to quickly warm her body before taking his
hand
"Stephanos, when you love someone it is not a trouble to do
something extra for them, it is a joy. Tonight was something
like that, and it makes me happy to see you and the others
smiling and laughing, it gives me joy to make you happy."
Leaning forward she kissed his forehead, then looked into his
eyes
" I will not keep you here talking when you should be having
fun, just think about what I said. Think about what would make
you happy and let me know so I can be happy as well."

*he went back to the other kids and after a few more minutes he
again began to join in. . . was as if he had to warm himself
back up to the possibility to have fun*

She stayed crouched down and watching him for a few minutes
before returning to the others. Of the children, he was the one
who held her heart, yet he was oblivious to it. She made her way
back to stand beside Mannix,
"Where did you find the kits? I think I would like to get pets
for them each...they seem to love Petra and Alice's....and Petra
and Alice."

Mannix smiled.
"I found them in the great Bazaar. The variety of animals they
had was quite amazing. And the man quite reasonable. More
important, the animals seemed very healthy. And while they are
getting along find with Alice, I am pretty sure everyone loves
Petra. There is something about her makes people see what
amazing heart she has. She is more charismatic than any child
her age should be. And she has a truly good heart."
