Mannix watched as well. Petra had this affect on people. He was
watching Alice mostly, to see how she reacted to the other
children and how she dealt with all the attention Petra was
getting. After a few moments he turned to look at the other
adults.
"This was definitely a good idea. Thank you for having us over.
And it is a pleasure to meet Lady Amaris family."
That last part was aimed at the adults standing there.

*As Mannix looked at them the pendant Andrea was wearing caught
his attention and he was immediately drawn into it. As his Curse
took hold of him. The Kids were getting along well with Petra
and Alice who seemed to slide right in and friendly all petting
the Kits . .. Even Stephanos gave one a quick pet.*
sounds like a very pleasing Idea
*Andrea said to Amaris as Aliyn stood next to Andrea and Gavriel
a bit back watching over them*

Mannix's eye lit upon the pendant, a cameo of some woman. The
Toreadors gaze locked on it laying upon the woman's chest but he
was not really seeing any part of Andrea. His eyes followed the
perfect shape of the Cameo, the oval being exact as nature could
never achieve. The woman carved out of the layered stone was
perfect, alive in all but color. Each curve of the decorative
swirls seemed to speak of the ocean or time, perfectly curved
and formed. He found himself falling into it, his mind
concentrating on its beauty to the exclusion of all else. He
tried to reach out and touch its perfection but his hand seemed
stuck in slow motion, as if his body could not truly remember
how to move and every action was a herculean task.

She looked over to Mannix to see if he agreed as well and found
him with his eyes locked on Andrea's chest. She elbowed him and
glared but got no response. She elbowed him harder
"Lord Mannix ... would you be willing to ..."
It dawned on her what was happening. Mannix was enthralled with
the locket, silly Toreador. She smiled at Andrea
"Your locket seems to have all his attention."
She stepped between Andrea and Mannix, blocking his view ..she
spoke harshly but softly .. in her old, stricter voice he would
remember
"Lord Mannix! Could you please stop drooling over Andrea's
chest? It's unseemly!"

this way you wont make Aliyn try to stab you for attempting to

Mannix blinked as his vision of the piece of art was broken. He
blinked and looked around, dazed, his hand still outstretched.
"What? I... what?"
And suddenly it was back in his hand and his fingers started to
rollover it, feeling the texturing, the contouring, how
perfectly... yeah, he was at it again, and fully under.
Oh well. Look at Mannix standing there, totally engaged in the
piece. At least for several more minutes.

"Awww, I was looking forward to Aliyn's wrath. I have never

She chuckled
"I would accept that, but only if the wrath was aimed at me."
She looked to the children when they were mentioned and nodded
"That she is...and incredibly precocious as well. She has Lord
Mannix wrapped about her finger, and is working on the rest of
the world it seems."

Mannix slowly came out of the stupor he was in and blinked.
"This.. is a .. beautiful cameo."
He handed it over to the ladies and looked around, trying to
figure out what he missed.
