He looked at her bread and nodded.
"Here, leave that for the birds and cats. I will get you
something to eat. do you like cheese? or fruit?"
He walked her into the main street, keeping her close and once
again headed to the Hagia Sofia. when close he looked for a
vendor of food.

He smiled and looked at the girl.
"Can I see the pouch for a moment. I promise to give it back and
I will refill it when we get home."
He bought her some fresh bread, letting the vendor know he could
tell the difference and knew the proper price of bread, an
bought her some fruit as well. Then they continued. He still
needed to talk to his Sire.

He smiled at her and accepted it.
"Thank you. For now, please do not steal anything when with me.
We will talk about it more later. But it is very kind of you to
get this for me."
He walked her further into the Hagia Sofia and looked around. If
needed he would find someone and ask where his Sire was. But not
in those words of course.
"What is your name?"

Mannix looked down at her and then went down to one knee to look
her eye to eye.
"I have to talk to someone important. You have your coins back.
Hold this fruit for me, the piece you gave me. I will be back to
eat it with you. You can rest if you want and I will make sure
you know when I am back. Can you do this for me Petra? Can you
be brave and strong?"
He looked in her eyes, watching her carefully.
