He nodded.
"Would you like to live with me for as long as you wish? You can
learn and be safe at night. you can come back to the streets,
see things, hear things, steal when you wish. But everything you
need will be provided."

He looked at her and went down to his haunches.
"You will tell me what you hear and see on the streets, keep me
aware. I might ask you to follow someone on occasion, or steal
something. But only when you are ready. First you will need to
learn to defend yourself. And you will need to show me how smart
you are. And learn to be more careful. I should never have been
able to find you, since you had a jump on me. But that is all
for later. Do you have any other questions?"

He gave her a smile looking up at her.
"Good. Is there anything you want to bring with you? Get it
now."
He had been away too long. He needed eyes in the city. And she
amused him. There would be more he would have to do before
trusting her fully. But that was not for right this moment.

He walked her outside the house, keeping her close, adn letting
her keep the coins.

showed him as they walked she held his hand as they walked*
