others hurt you, it means be slow to anger. Do not take umbrage
immediately but understand. If someone is angry, soothe their
anger, If someone is hungry, feed them, if someone is in a hurry
get out of the way. But if someone wishes to kill or hurt you,
you do not give up. When I was a monk I was taught to defend the
house of god and his people. And I will always defend this
family that I have been given. But I respect your preference.
You do not have to take up a weapon or learn martial arts. Are
you godly then?"

We all are supposed to be Godly are we not? And killing is
against god? So I will not kill anyone and yes I do my best to
follow the tenants set down by God

His words were not mean or unkind. It was a very importnt
question. She could have her childhood as long as she wished, to
be young with Petra, or he could treat her as the older woman
she really was with all the resposibility and maturity that
involved.
