Daughters and conversations.

It had been a couple of days and Alice was settling well into
the house. He came back from working at the palace and wandered
through the house. He used his new ability, reading auras to see
how the family members were doing, the moods of them all.
Checking all the ghouls and Petra. The last one he would check
was Alice. He needed to talk to her really and after examiing
everyone he wold make his way to try and speak to her.

*haveing acheived the ability to read their auras he learned
Petra was a pure innocent child nothing ominous or foreboding
about her. Alice while not innocent was becoming more adjusted
in her aura no longer flickering near death as they meet with
mannix*

*Petra said with Alice there also both smileing Petra much
more so than Alice but it was there*

He smiled at Petra and Alice.
"Actually I was hoping to speak to Alice. Remember how when we
first met I asked you about you and what type of person you were
and what you wanted from life and me, along with other things? I
need to get to know her like that too. Alice, are comfortable
talking to me about such things or do you need more time?"

*she nodded as Petra smiled and sat here feet swinging freely

"Okay. First thing, should I call you Alice or would you prefer
something else? This is the next step in your life and you can
change what you wish."

He smiled at that.
"It is a good name. You can call me Mannix if you wish. I hope
with time you will feel like calling me father like Petra does,
but I only want you to call me that if you are comfortable doing
so. I don't know much about you Alice. Do you have any mementos
of things of your own that you would like to retrieve? Do you
have anyone you want in your life other than us, your new
family?"

I have what Petra gave me and i have Petra. .. that is all i

He smiled at her.
"Sometimes some one to love is all we need, Alice. I know life
must have been miserable before. I hope we can make sure it is
better from now on. May I ask if you can read and write? I am a
book maker and an illustrator and so it is really important to
me. Petra is learning right now. What do you like to do? What
interests you?"

I can read and write.. I enjoy spending time with Petra so I
will continue that. .
