After the sleep over

The next night mannix woke as the sun dipped below the horizon
and darkness came. His eyes opened and he stretched, making sure
he was still covered. He looked around to make sure no one else
was in his room before getting up.

*no one was in his room besides himself but he heard Petra
talking in her room her sweet voice and then he heard another
voice softer unable to distinguish actual words but the other
girl was apparently talking to Petra*

He got up and dressed quietly. Once done he picked up his diary
and made a note or two. He sniffed the air. Per normal he could
smell dinner ready for them below. He went to the door and
knocked, waiting to be acknowledged.

Mannix smiled and looked at them both.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Alice. I hope you had a good
night. Would you two ladies like to come downstairs for food? I
can make some warm tea for you, or we have juice. And I can
smell fresh bread and roasted vegetables."
He was impressed with them, with Alice. She looked much better.

He smiled and prepared thier food and made a small bowl for
himself, eating a little as he watched them.
"Did you have a good night? I would ask what you two talked
about but I know it might be secret. So, first I have to ask,
Alice do you feel better?"

He smiled.
"If she wishes to stay she can stay."
He looked at Alice.
"Do you wish for Petra to be your sister? Would you like me to
be your father?"
