The maiden and the moons (The Column of the Goths)

He kissed her and smiled
"I will not be long."
Then he looked at them...
"Boys, protect Momma."
Before she could protest he had melted into the shadows. She
looked indignantly at the now empty spot he had faded into and
sighed. A grin split her face as she looked at the boys.
"Momma has cheese ... "
She took two walnut sized pieces from her pocket and fed them
each one. Suddenly they were all wags and licks. Behold the
power of cheese. She shrugged and began to explore the gardens,
cheese hounds in tow. It wasn't long until she found the
fountain and sat down on a nearby bench. Phobos and Diemos sat
at her feet occasionally glancing her direction hoping for
another nugget from her pocket.
"You can have more in a while ... "
The area was deserted, so she decided a little practice would
not hurt. She got to her feet and smiled down at them...
"Go!"
...and she ran...knowing fully that they were already ahead
before she took her first step.

Mannix walked along on the pleasant night, Petra at his side.
She had wanted to walk and run and play so he thought maybe a
trip to the gardens would be nice. They supposedly had added
several night flowering plants, jasmine from the east, water
lilies from Egypt and something called a moonflower. He was
excited himself. One of the things he missed with his change was
flowers and the like as most hid at night. So he brought his pad
and a piece of charcoal and watched Petra run around. As he got
close to the fountain he saw two dog..really wolves by their
size and the way they moved. And a woman. She seemed to be
chasing them. It took a moment when he realized who the woman
was.
Suddenly Petra noticed too and clapped in delight.
"Oh, me too father, me too. Can I play chase as well?"
Mannix looked unsure.
"Only if the nice lady gives her permission and she seems quite
busy at the moment."

*Petra smiles and runs to the Puppies*
Puppies
*she had her arms out stretched as the Wolves see her lower
their heads as if to charge then stop and Roll over as Petra
gives them Tummy rubs*
Good Puppies
*she said with a Giggle*

She stopped running and laughed
"Look at you two traitors ... going weak for little girls who
give tummy rubs."
She walked back to where the small girl had them back to wags
and licks.
"Hello there, I am Amaris...and who might you be, little one who
enchants the moons?"

Mannix followed behind, walking calmly over to Amaris.
"She is very charming. Hello Lady Amaris."
He watched and letPetra talk. and play.

Hello. . I'm Petra. . . your Puppies are cute and fluffy
*she was rubbing and snuggling them both they seemed to no
longer be viscous wolves but docile pups*
Daddy Can i have a Puppy?

She smiled up at Mannix but looked back down as Petra spoke..
"They are! They are the very best snugglers...and they love
cheese."
She pulled more cheese from her pocket and handed to the girl
before standing to greet Mannix
"Lord Mannix ... is this lovely child..yours? And why does she
not have a puppy?"
She was grinning ...never a good sign.

Mannix looked up at Amaris, his face quite peaceful and
innocent, then he looked back at Petra.
"We can look into it. I thought you wanted a cat. Meanwhile I am
sure Lady Amaris doesn't mind letting you play with hers."
He smiled at her.
"I am guessing these aren't actually your wolves. You strike me
as someone into more exotic animals."
Plus, these were more likely to belong to a certain gangrel.

*Petra rolls one over and climbs upon it as it goes romping
about nto hard as if a small pony for Petra as she giggles and
laughs holding onto his fur*
I want both. .. Big Puppy Big Kitty i can comb and feed and ride
everynight so i cn keep up with you better

She grinned
"This is Phobos and Deimos... ferocious, no? And, yes, I do like
exotic things... I'm considering some Lynx ... "
She smiled and called to Petra,
"Just be careful and hold on tight...they do not always remember
they are so big...they think they are tiny puppies. "
She looked back to Mannix as the little one giggles in the
background.
"What brings you out this far Lord Mannix?"
