After her training with Symeon that evening, she made her way to
her Sire's quarters. While she waited she set his room up just
so - fluffing his pillows and turning back his bed.... trimming
the wicks and tidying the books piled everywhere .... taking
fresh robes and laying them out for the next day ...making
certain no light had found a way in since her last inspection -
all the things she did when she was his ghoul. Satisfied, she
sat at his desk and waited patiently -as she always had - for
his arrival.

She fought back the instinct to crumble under his touch and
gaze. For a moment her mouth wanted only to confess all she had
done in these past days...to beg his forgiveness and beg him to
let her stay here with him, safe in his world...safe from
herself. But she tore her eyes away to look down ..gaining a
moment of clarity. She steeled herself and raised he unblinking
eyes to meet his..
"I wish to be allowed into the Library of the Forgotten, Sire."

may still be useful today ... ancient secrets that hold keys to
resources still viable ... a deeper understanding of the past...
all of these things and more."
She started off well but he always got what he wanted from her.
"Specifically, I want to learn more about the Koldun, Sire."
She said it...out loud...and now she braced for his answer.
