Getting to know the city (open)

Mannix walked through the streets, getting to know the city
again. It was a strange place, ancient and written in stone atnd
at the same time new and ever changing. It was over 800 years
old and showed its roman history readily in its roots. At the
same time it showed it more modern self, a creation of its
people as they carved out an individual identity and then let it
grow. You could see the influence of so many nationalities and
peoples as they became part of what was Constantinople.
He looked around at the changes, following where his whim took
him. He was armed but hid the weapon under his robes, but still
within easy grasp. He stopped to admire the beauty and art
around him, the wares of the merchants and the new buildings ith
their new forms and shapes. He would stop anywhere especially
interesting and talk to someone in charge if anyone was around.
He also kept an eye out for any places where interesting people
might gather. The city was so large and there was so much to
see. And this was on ly one small area of it, and yet so vast.
He kept his money secure, not on a belt orstring and hidden and
tied tight. As much as he enjoyed Petra's company he didn't need
to draw more cutpurses.

*he walked casually through the Mese area sights smells all over
the place. Beauty in fruits and people. No one brushed up
against him in an attempt to steal anything but there were
people walking about crowding through the steets*
It is a pretty night is it not
*a man around 40ish spoke grey haired dark eyes broad shoulder
standing in around 5 10 dressed ina cloak*

Mannix looked at the man speaking to him.
"It is a nice night out here. The city is so alive tonight. Do
you live in the city?"

I do reside with in the city and by the looks and scent you do
also. . .

Mannix raised an eyebrow and gave the other man a closer look as
well.
"Do those who live in the city have a particular scent? I am
surprised you can make out my scent around all these other
people and the wares in the street. I do enjoy the beauty of
this city as well as its variety. Are you on your way anywhere
tonight or just strolling?"

The Hagia Sophia has its own very distinct scent as do other
places within the city. .. So yes certain scents can rise above
the area . . . Just out for an evening stroll
*he picked up a couple empty wooden bowls and paid for them*
. . . you out for the same or shopping for something?

Mannix watched the man for a moment and then went back to
looking around at the city and the people passing by. He was not
paranoid but it was always wise to keep your wits about you in
the city. Or anywhere.
"Like yourself I am just strolling and enjoying the city. I
haven't been in this part for a while.This city is both eternal
and constantly changing at the same time. Part of it's wonder I
guess."

it is that as well as Vile and Empty the city has both of
everything in it

him. Mannix could then notice he had a Mark of an Anhk on his
neck*

He looked at the man and made note of the emblem on he neck.
"Every city has it's dark side or so it has been my experience,
as every person has their darkness. As far as empty goes, are
you speaking of the quarter? I heard it has been in trouble
since the riots."

The guard moved into that area and it has settled down. . .for
now
*he reached into the vendors stack and pulled out a scroll*
