Because this peaked her interest. She would clarify the

She turned to the woman and lifted her head. Using her thumbs
she tucked the woman's earlobes into her ears,molding them there
to shut out sound. She turned back to the man.
"I do not use children for these things I mentioned...only
adults like yourself. Your possible usefulness is diminishing
rapidly. How do you make a living?...and what use could it have
in bringing me information?"
She smiled at Mortis. He was adorable and vicious ... she found
herself rather liking him.

She covered his mouth and sealed it shut. Turning ripped open a
mew mouth for the woman then pulled out the fleshy bits that
blocked her ears.
"Now about you...tell me they hows and whys of your foul
practices. Keep in mind that it must serve one of my purposes,
if it does not...you likely will."
She tipped her head in expectation..

Her patience was wearing thin and she was curious as to how
Mortis would dispatch one of them.

She turned and looked at Mortis
"What do you think of this?...A full man to eat and she only
eats a pittance? It was meat she says....with a whole carcass
before her that she chooses to waste? Does this sound
reasonable?"
