       Like the prey who lives among the predators
       Shunned by my own kind
       taken in by my enemies
       ...but only if I allow them to feed on me
       ...and smile as they do
       My smile
       eases their minds
       making their cannibalism, my offering
       easier to digest
       My smile
       says I am not a sacrifice
       says I enjoy hearing I am delicious
       Being eaten away
       by their self-deception
       by my self-depreciation
       by our shared abuse
       of my being
       And they say
       "..at least some prey knows its place"
