That's the steering complete, just need to get some new bolts
and sleeve the threaded rod with tube.
On full lock the wheel stops just short of hitting the spring,
so more than happy with the lock.

Couldn't put this off any longer, let the itchy, smelly, dusty
work begin.
First step, cover up the work area. With out a doubt, you WILL
make a mess.
I screwed a peice of 3/4 ply to the back of the buck just to
lift it up off the table.

For the first layer i used some coarse chopped mat, the second
and third layers are fine woven cloth.

Third layer and an extra coat of resin applied.

The garage was a little cold, had to rig up a makeshift oven.

Buck removed and the rough edges trimmed off. Buck came out
easier than I had expected, must have been the three coats of
pva release agent.

Quick sand to find the high and low spots.

After a full day of filling and sanding the grill is starting to
take shape.

You know you are getting somewhere when things start turning
black.

Wanted to get a coat of paint on the chassis before I started to
fit the bodywork and floor pan.

Was thinking about putting some stone chip on for extra
protection.

Looking sweet Noel, I age those cabinets in your garage as 1974,
a style I predict will be in fashion again shortly, I ripped
many of them out. ...

I think you're right Jim about the age, they are still as strong
as the day they were made, not like the modern rubbish.
No goal as of yet, just when its done.
