Glad to hear you are improving the 'tuck under' situation, it
was scary enough just watching from a safe distance. And to be
fair my photo didn't capture it at it's worst!

It didn't feel too bad in the kart, as by then I had the measure
of it, not like the first corner on the second lap!

Prompted by questions on the other forum, and out of curiosity
I've weighed the Morgan: 34 Kg front (75 lb), 66 Kg rear (145
lb) total 100 Kg (220 lb), which is exactly what I was hoping
for.

Things are on hold at the moment, too many other things taking
priority, like work, camper, garden. I'll be back to it later in
the month, once Llangollen International Eisteddfod is out of
the way.
Still doing research for future cyclekarts though!

Having said it's on hold, I did pick up a baby bath yesterday,
which I thought would provide me with a mould for the Morgan and
A7 radiator surround. I think it'll work for the A7, not for the
Morgan though. At the builders merchants collecting some timber
today, I spotted some bits of celotex, asked, and the answer was
yes you can have them. So I've got plenty of polyurethane foam
to make the plug for the Morgan radiator surround, free!
Polyurethane foam is not attacked by polyester resin, so no
barrier needed, so I think that's a result, just need some PU
adhesive to stick it together.
PS. One thing I'd be wary of doing with polyurethane foam is
using a hot wire, I know cyanide is involved in the cure, so I'd
be doubtful about heating it.

I have used PVA and hot glue to stick PU foam together, just
kept away from the edge where the cut was to avoid the hard
spots. I cut with a hand saw and use blocks of offcuts as
sanding material.

Thanks for the info Rhys, I'll use the bandsaw for cutting, I'll
follow your tip for sanding though. Looking at polyurethane glue
on ebay, I came across some glue sticks that claim to be
polyurethane, so I'll try those. For the cost of it though I'm
still inclined to get a small bottle of the Gorilla Glue for the
job.

For gluing the foam together anything that doesn't attack the
foam will do. I used the hot glue because it's so quick that you
barely hesitate making the shape. Long bits of dowel and kebab
sticks make good nails for the job :)

Got a couple of bits done, changed the rear tyre from a 120, to
a 3.00, and changed the brake shoes while I was at it.
To do that means removing the exhaust silencer and outboard
bearing carrier, no hardship as I'm going to change the exhaust
anyway.
The reason for changing the exhaust isn't performance, but to
reduce the bulk, it will improve performance, if only because
the original silencer is 3.75 Kg (!!!), and the replacement is
500 g.
Oh yes, and I was mistaken about the tyre make, it's a Vee
Rubber, not a Metzler.

So, got the exhaust more or less sorted, quite pleased with the
way it tucks in, it'll be completely hidden under the body, and
it saves 3.25 Kg. Just need to sort out a tailpipe to bring the
exhaust gasses out clear of the body, don't want to suffocate
the engine.
Chris
