Hi Pete, I can turn a collar that is a press fit on the stub and
weld it both sides. It will just need to be welded
       to your tube.

Great leap forward, thanks to Jim, who machined his stub axles
to take some collars which, once welded to the stubs, then meant
that they fitted inside the ends of my 40mm CDS axle.
I now have a finished front axle! So I am not far off fitting my
wheels - and then it will actually look like a car, finally!
       Thanks Jim

I have made my spacers and fitted them between my bearings on my
front axle (with stub axles machined and welded by Jim).
Starting to feel and look like a car![img][/img]

That's looking real good Pete and will be a great addition to
the club stand at Sywell. I hope you get it to a stage to
       demonstrate it on the runway.

Coming on strong now Pete - not long until you can roll it
about, that stage made life so much easier in my garage.
       Looking good!

[img][/img] after the very huge privilege of being on the Sywell
stand, and buoyed up by everyone's kind comments and advice, I
am now working to finish the kart (as well as lay a floor and
paint the house, which I promised Lucy would be priorities after
       Sywell)
Chris L gave me loads of guidance about brakes and on his
recommendation, I have ordered a master cylinder + caliper set
on ebay (with a reservoir) and a disc plus carrier from Gemini.

chuffed to bits, as I am finally a member of the French based,
Les Amis de Bédélia, which has members who own and also do not
own (but desperately wish they did) a Bedelia, like me.

I was just telling Stefan, I still haven't seen a real Bedelia.
I have just been interpreting videos and photos. I have been
corresponding with the President of the society, Marc Périssé,
owner of the green Bedelia in this
       video

       front suspension experiments
By: Tinworm Date: October 16, 2022, 1:53 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Two springs make up the front suspension, an upper one and a
lower one. But my range of springs is limited. I probably ought
to work out the right spring mathematically, by weighing the car
(with me in it) and by putting scales at the nose, using the
rear axle as a pivot. But I just took a too long spring,
compressed it and tried it. It isn't strong enough. Without me
in the car it is nose-down. But it feels like real progress.
see my blog below to see video, which is too large to upload
       here
