Torque converter

Comet torque converters seem to be as rare as rocking horse
backsides! Has anybody tried any other sorts. I found this one
on amazon.

I'm looking at
HTML https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bravex-Torque-Converter-Clutch-Chain/dp/B07D776ZFW/ref=asc_df_B07D776ZFW/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=500890667741&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17492972252983090730&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007027&hvtargid=pla-1223671025702&th=1
Very similar but all the importing is done by Amazon and
included in the price.
Again, has anyone experience of these or better/cheaper?

Thanks Jim. It's exactly the same but without the sticker :-))
I expect that they all come from the same factory.

If you do go ahead and order the TAV, and you already have a
motor with a 3/4" shaft, you will need a bolt to suit the motor
shaft as the one that comes with the TAV is too short (for my
motor) and the wrong thread (again, for my motor)
I ended up with a 2 1/2" x 5/16 UNF fine thread bolt.
I had to buy 5, a trip into town costs more in fuel than the
bolts and postage ;-)

Thanks Jim. No motor or TAV at the moment.
Haven't got the free space yet to do the chassis so focusing on
making parts and sourcing.
I'll bear that in mind though. The engine I'm looking at has an
M8 thread in the shaft I think.

Motors come with a variety of end threads, I can find no logic.
Just be prepared for that. The ones which bolt the TAV to the
motor also vary.

The reviews for both of these torque converters are pretty mixed
with some bad
ones which seem very bad indeed, with bearings breaking up etc
I'd be reassured if a CK builder said they were good, as a bunch
of the reviewers
seem to be trying to use them with things which weren't
compatible, etc.
But the reviews did make me nervous.
Anyone know when Gemini will have stocks of Torq A Verters in
again?
On the whole do people expect those to be the best quality, with
others being imitators?

In my own I have used a Comet , I was the NZ agent for GTC and
neither gave me any trouble. Doug Varey in the US now uses
exclusively (as far as I know) Max Torque.
Chris at Gemini told me they had all sorts of trouble with the
Chinese ones, but the one they now sell is good, especially with
a belt change. Dave Dupaquier (Bent axle) uses the Chinese,
also changes belts to better ones.
Belts are consumables anyway, and you should always carry a
spare. That reminds me, when building, make access for that as
easy as you can, so that it's not a PITA.

Good thought (access) but what is PITA?
