Gemini front steering arm/ axle v2 question

I'm looking at getting the Gemini front steering arm/ axle V2
and having trawled through some of the old posts here it seems
some are running 70mm x17mm axles with pit bike wheels and some
are running 62mm x 17mm ones for Honda wheels. The king pin
inclination is set to 16 degrees on Gemini's site.
On Gemini's website I can only see the 62mm x 17mm with 16
degrees of king pin inclination built in.
Question. Are pit bike wheels better suited?
And if, so do Gemini make a different axle to suit them and how
do you order it?
Also, is 16 degrees right for the contact patch for the wheels?

I would suggest you phone them. I get a much better response
that way from them.
I would also suggest that you sort your wheels first before
ordering stub axles. 62 mm would NOT work for the pitbike wheels
I have here.
16 degrees is a good angle, although some folks use less.

Am I wrong in thinking that a 20mm front stub axle is a
preferred size?
I know that bearings are available for Honda wheels with 17mm
and 20mm id.
So, which is preferable please?

You'll find it easier and cheaper to find bearings for 17mm
spindles if using pit bike wheels. 17mm spindles have proved
plenty strong enough. The ones I ordered and use were 17mmx70m.
16 degrees kpi is about right but will depend on the tyres you
fit because that changes the diameter of your wheels - I suspect
its not critical though.

Is either wheel more prone to failure, they seem very similarly
priced.

Another thing to consider, as most folks use 17mm
bearings/spindles if you at an event and have a need to borrow a
wheel it might be worth being the same as the majority?

Gemini do them with 70mm axles as well, if you select the
offside or nearside arms rather than the V2 in the drop down
menu they come up

Just one thing to note with the gemini stub axles - if you have
gone for 16 degree angle the holes for your tie rod can be at
quite an angle and may need to be cut, bent and re-welded. What
happens is the rose joints reach their max and you will find
yourself adding huge spacers which is a shame when you have
bought a nice new part in my opinion.
This will also depend on if you have selected to mount them on
the top of the axle or underneath and if you have a steering
rack or simple tie rods. Just something to be aware of. here is
a picture of two from gemini, black are 16 degree (unders) and
the raw metal are 10 degrees (over) which were made wrong for me
as I go under the chassis legs. so if anyone needs a couple of
stub axles...... ;)
the other picture shows them fitted and hopefully you can see
how the tie rod hole is at quite an angle when really if it was
horizontal would be much better
