Does drawing count as part of the build?
If so, I've started.
First doodle

I'm focussing on the front axle to start with having got a
pre-bent blank from Gemini Karts. Wheels acquired from Cardiff
Motorcycles Ltd. via Ebay. I shall be making my own kingpin
assemblies, photos to follow when I can get to the lathe and the
press.
I had a malfunction (brain fart) when I ordered replacement
bearing - bought 32 x 20 - correct size now ordered.
I know it's not much to report but I'm chipping away in odd
moments when not working on the loco.

Making up the bending dies for the yokes, I came across these
pics.
May be of interest to others.

Just finished off a bit of turning, kingpins and kingpin shells.
This is the set up for my kingpins - way over the top really. A
bit of tube and some bronze 'top-hats' would have worked.
Sometimes I just like fancy.
The yokes are 40mm x 5mm - not drilled or ends shaped yet.

More progress on my front axle.
Bored the hole for the kingpin tube using a 30mm hole saw. Nice
to have the kit to set up the angles but otherwise it would have
been a wood jig and hand drill. (Or buy the whole thing finished
from Gemini)
Easy then to tack the tube in place before cutting off the
surplus.

Thanks Chris. Just hold that thought.....
I then went on to weld them upside down! (note my 'signature')
All corrected now but looking a bit messier.

More bits. Collected the springs today, 570mm span, 80mm camber,
20mm eyes, from Owen Springs, Rotherham.

Yokes and steering arms - I've just press fitted and silver
soldered the bosses for the rod ends.
Need a big clean up then a coat or two of paint, black Hammerite
smooth - cheap and effective.
Started making a template for the front of the chassis sides -
it need refining but that's the next job.

The curves look sweet David. It is amazing what difference
little design considerations make to a thing
