Wheel diameters

Simple question - what is the diameter of a 17 x 1.4 wheel with
a standard 2.50 - 17 tyre on it ?
I'm working on some drawings and considering ground clearances.

Also, while I'm scrounging info, given a 10 tooth sprocket on
the torque converter, what size axle sprocket?
I've seen 68 to 72 suggested in different places. I'd really
like to know what CKGB experience says.

Mine are 575mm diameter - and I'm aiming at 100mm ground
clearance with the option to lower the seat below the frame
rails if I want to take the C of G down further.

No personal experience but the general consensus seemed to be
around 7:1 as the final gearing after the torque converter, - I
hope so anyway, that's what I'm aiming for :)

7:1 after the TC works for me on 17” wheels (diameter with 2.75
tyres is about 590/600mm). Having said that, I’d be interested
to try a higher ratio because at most venues its acceleration
you’re looking for more than top speed. If you use a 420 chain
then fitting a main sprocket that’s bigger than 70/72 starts
becoming a challenge.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
That all helps me to clarify my idea - still working on paper
but making progress.
I think I'll go with a 70 sprocket for starters, with 420 chain.
Stefan, are 2.75 tyres generally preferred to 2.5? I know that
both will fit on a 1.4 rim.
