       Bugatti type 35 build
By: Nic Date: December 10, 2021, 12:40 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Ok so the time has come to start my build , after doing a bit
of recearch i ordered a bunch of bits , Aluminium box section
for the chassis , and then from gemini karts i brought a
peerless diff , 50 tooth sprocket, hubs, and a front axle.
I have had the last week off so have done my christmas
shopping and got a good 4 days in my shed so progress is beeing
       made!!.

I have Always loved the Bugatti type 35, and after
building myself an Austin 7 special over the last two years , i
fugured thats the car i want , i intend to build the body all
from aluminium seeing as i have all the tools and i have learnt
quit a bit from building my Austin body.

Very challenging Nic, that aluminum chassis that is. I'm
       building a mid-20's Miller 91 and
rather than hand hammer a 'C-channel frame from steel I chose to
       do it with 4" aluminum
structural channel. Rather than weld the crossmembers in, I'm
bolting all of them as was
       done on the original cars.
Keep those pictures coming, even though I'm thousands of miles
       West of you....I really enjoy
       following you guys over there.

Very impressive, I think I'm going to enjoy this build! I too
am using aluminium for the chassis, but like Denny I'm going to
have to bolt, as I don't have your TIG skills.

ive not seen your way of locating the spring before, neat and
simple, be interested to see how it performs.

That Aluminium Chassis is looking real sweet along with those
lovely looking spring perches, and all lightweight. I need to
upgrade my tig set to do Ali and now wish I had along time ago.
       lol

Thanks for all your praise on my build , yep im building the
whole thing in Aliminium , An ac/dc tigwelder is a good addition
to any workshop it takes a bit of practice , there are loads of
instructional vids on youtube to help you along.
As for scaling i have taken a plan then worked out
some mesurments for the wheel base and body size then adjusted
it to fit in with the engine and driver , its never going to be
       a perfect scale replica.
