       The online shops (eg www.metals4u.co.uk or
       www.themetalstore.co.uk) are handy for a range of metal supplies
       but shipping can get costly.
       I've not found many metal supplies locally so was pleased to
       find Pyramid Steel in Aldershot.  The are a construction metal
       supplier but have lots of standard stock at reasonable prices.

       In the Midlands, Tamworth Steel Stockholders are VERY friendly.
       Let me know your needs and I can drop in to pay and collect.
       Their process for the smaller sizes is that I can look at the
       small section (offcuts) and then weigh them, I pay cash,
       sometimes no cost. I can ship at my company cost.
