2021 Aug 28 - Grimsthorpe Speed Trials

We've got provisional agreement for cycleKarts to be involved in
the Grimsthorpe Speed Trials on 28th August 2021. Graham and I
had a call with the main organiser today and they're keen to
have us. You can find out more about the event at

It's held at Grimsthorpe Castle which is near Bourne, the home
of ERA.
The event is a 1/2 mile "spirited demonstration run" with
unofficial timing. Similar to the Goodwood Revival, period
"pre-war" dress is encouraged. It's likely that "competitors"
will be able to camp on the Friday night.
There's lots still to be confirmed including the ever-present
question of insurance. Speed trial entry this year was due to
be £40 for a car with driver and one extra person, which is the
same cost as 2 adults paying for entry to the event at the gate
- so very reasonable!
We know it's a long way off, but it would be helpful to have an
indication of who might be up for coming.

I don't think that Grimsthorpe is a confirmed event yet, but if
it goes ahead I am absolutely sure you would be most welcome!
