Not at all, I may just have been unlucky. I let the seller know
and he is sending a replacement. Your better experience gives me
hope that the replacement will solve the problem.

... Reminds me of the punchline to a 70's joke...
"Looks like a dream, goes like a dream, steers like a cow" ...
       Moo ;D
       Addendum
Actually, I just looked up the place I might have got that from
and surprised myself... I got the decade wrong just and
miss-quoted it some how but it shows me how much of an
impression the author had on me...

       Good one
I saw that someone here has nabbed the number 42! Restaurant at
the End of the Universe was a favourite of mine!

I removed my negative comment here about a quick release that
was faulty because the customer service guy was so helpful and
now I have a perfect quick release boss

I have just received this one from McGill Motorsport for £20
very well made with zero play.

Yes , These parts from McGill are fine , i have been using them
       on my Austin CK .
They have put up with quite a lot of wear n tear and still work
       well ;D.
Would advise getting splined part, professionally welded to
column , if you can .
