Rear axle 1” diameter

Just bought a number of parts for Canada for my new build but
missing the 1” axle.
Now I can, at a price, import one from the U.S. but being an
Aberdonian, I am reluctant to pay the exorbitant price being
asked, so can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier
here in the U.K.

I would go to a local small engineering company & ask them to
cut a key way into a 1 inch bar. Probably cheaper than importing
one.

I have a pair of nice go kart rear hubs that I had reamed from
25mm to 1" and adapters for pit bike wheels going spare if you
ever need them.
Most of us use metric 25mm or 35mm axles in blighty.

Thank you very much for the information and offer of parts Jim.
I do run a 25mm axle on my kart Jim, and was looking at at this
to form the basis for the new one but the parts from Canada are
so, so easy to bolt in and adjust it was a “no brainer”. The
down side is the 1” axle.
As for the idea of “buy and cut”, the expression of “why didn’t
I think of that” came to mind and once again it demonstrates the
benefits of the Club Website and allows me to glean knowledge
from other, so thanks again Nick may well try this pathway.
