Hi Little French....that’s some chassis! If the steering rack
is anything like the one I used, you should put it in the bin
straight away! It is rubbish. Dave.

Dave. Gemini (it's about time I asked for a discount) sell the
racks that they fit to their own off-road karts. I had a look at
one the last time I was there, they have never had a problem
with any apparently. 360 degree turn lock to lock on the unfixed
rack.... this may be too slow for circuits such as Stretton?
In the meantime does anybody know where I can get hold of some
steel disks 16gauge, about 50mm diameter, I need about 100?

Thank you for the warning!
In fact, I think to modify this rack!
I bought this cheap thing to keep the items interesting (pinion,
rack, ball joints and tie rods Right and Left, steering column
and gimbals) I think to manufacture the central part as my last
rack made at home.

That new rack you have shown is interesting. I am going to make
a new ‘box’ to house the pinion gear. Exactly how, I don’t know
yet! I do have a lathe but no milling machine. Any tips on how I
may go about it?
