GN - rear leaf spring suspension

       Hi all
Long time reader new time poster.
I am in the CAD phase of the design of a "GN inspired" cyclekart
and still trying to figure out exactly where all the important
bits go in relation to each other. In order to stay true to the
inspiration of the GN chassis, I was planning on implementing
rear leaf spring suspension. However it does seem that the vast
majority of karts use no rear suspension at all, so I am left
wondering - do I go for leafs or go without?
I do definitely want to participate in events, so I want the
kart to not fall foul of any rules, and that is more important
to me that keeping to the GN's technical specs.
You can see the attached for my current design - not a technical
diagram by any means, more just a tool to visualise my ideas :)
       Thanks for any advice

       That is a lovely rendering!
Don't quote me (as I have been out of the scene for years), but
I can't see how you fall foul of any rules if you have rear
suspension. My gut instinct is that if most people don't have
rear suspension, there will be a good reason for it....road
holding when you only have one driving wheel perhaps. But I
totally get your wish to make your car recognisably a GN

My GN inspired kart has rear suspension, mainly because it seems
like a good idea at the time.
I don’t think it adds to the driving experience, it does add to
the complexity keeping chains on is a key challenge!
It’s not against the rules so if you want rear springs go for
       it.
It’s probably easier to just build a solid mounted axle and get
out and have some fun driving the kart.

Why not make fake non working rear suspension? It will look the
       part without the engineering problems.
