Tim,
Just a thought, will we need a pass to access the site and if so
how or when can we obtain it?
Regards
Charlie Scott

Tim,
Me again.
Having downloaded and printed the event vehicle pass my mind now
turns to logistics:-
i) where within the event site will we be location and,
ii) what time on Saturday morning will you be delivering the
briefing
Just so you are aware, I will be staying, “off site” with my son
who lives in Selby meaning I will travel from his place to the
event Saturday morning, hence the ask.
Regards
Charlie Scott

Good morning Scotty, hope the journey is a pleasant one for you
this weekend.
See images below for the entrance point and our location on what
is the most massive pad of concrete you may ever encounter. The
rectangle in blue is 150m x 50m.
As there will be many other exhibits at the show, I cannot
navigate you from one end of the pad to the other but we are at
the far corner... At least that is the plan to date.

Jim,
Thank you for the additional information and I am sure I will
find you given I have a good Scottish tongue in my head,
🤔 come to think about it, could you provide the
Yorkshire translation for the Scots speak, “Hey Jimmy far de
them Cyclecairt loons n quinces bide aboots”?
One more thing, starting time or “yoking time”
Regards,
Charlie Scott

We will probably aim for a brief around 9 to 9:30 Scotty.
A literal translation for the York end of our greatest county of
Yorkshire, as the accent varies widely across its large expanse,
is this.
" Ey-up, weerst cyclkaarts lad (Lass)" In our enlightened times,
you might want to substitute "mate" for lad or lass BUT UNDER NO
CIRCUMSTANCES use the word "pal" as it is incitement for a fight
in those parts.
Stay safe and leave the bow and arrows at home...

Jim,
Thank you Sir for that “sage” advice.
Having undertaken the necessary research, I have acquired the
appropriate clothing so as to blend in with the native
population. My wife however tells me that they stopped wearing
these Viking type cloths some time ago but as I have spent all
of 17 shillings and 4 pence on them, I see no reason to change
now. The helmet may be a bit problematic but you never know.
😂
Looking forward to the weekend event.
Regards,
Charlie Scott

Splash out a few denari on a toga and it will update your
wardrobe somewhat Scotty. ;)

Please could all entrants to this event download and read the
Event Regulations attached to the first post above. Details of
activities, where known and requirements of competitors are
included.
This will save time at the briefings if you have all read them.
There may be a quiz ;)
