       wheels and bearings
By: Mike Date: September 19, 2025, 6:28 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
i've put in a preorder with redcircles for the cyclekart deal -
       thanks for the tip all.
so i understand that the bearings in these wheels need replacing
and i've watched videos on how to knock them out.
My question is on what to replace them with. I'm seeing on
       gemini and cyclekart workshop:
       rear hubs
       mono hubs
       adapter plates
then ebay has this bruses and bearings set
  HTML https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286290846866
i also cant find any spaces to put between the bearings
as always advice very appreciated on the build
       thanks again,
       M

Graham Hill has an article here...

Graham's Article still stands, but now Gemini also offer
"spacers" so you have no need to remove the lip on the hub of
the pit bike wheel if you so choose to do so. Removing the lip
is not too difficult, and saves weight if you are bothered about
that, Having the spacer is perhaps simpler and easier if you
ever have to renew your wheels through wear or damage.

Mark also sells a bearing kit which includes: the four front
wheel bearings needed for the pit bike wheels and the four
bronze bushes that hold the pit bike wheels to a 25mm diameter
       axle.
The description of this on his website disappeared after a
hacking attempt and he has yet to add it back as he has been a
       bit busy.

Regarding front wheel bearing replacement, is necessary to use a
spacer tube with the larger id bearings?

I would recommend it, we have had people run without, but we
have also had at least one seize a wheel on track without. For
the small outlay, I think it is wise

The spacer needed is just a 43mm length of 22mm OD, 2mm wall,
       tube. Nothing clever.

I would measure the length of the spacers that come out of the
wheels you have as I have found different bearing seat depths in
       the wheels I own.

motorcycle handle bars make the perfect spacer cut to size
