As a result of something else I'm doing for a small venture, I
have come across lovely little "coil over" spring units which
would be ideal (I believe) for a build doing other than
traditional front ends. I'll post a pic a bit later. Yes, at
this stage available, I have 2 pair.

Those are absolutely nothing like what Mary would have!

I know that. I'm niot a loony you know?
I was referring to the post where you said you had some 1/4
eliptic springs.

Rhys.
What are the principle dimensions of the coilovers?
Have they any damping qualities?
What (approx) is the spring rate?
How much are they?
:)

So;
6" eye to eye
1.25" diameter
8 mm eye size with bushing inserted
Yes damping
Approx rate 45 lb/in
Cost £15/pair.
Depending on the geometry, these are rated at max passenger
weight of 125 kg.

That should make a nice pair of dampers for my Renault, what do
you think?.
It had piston dampers fitted for the 1906 race. They were very
experimental at the time and virtually nothing worth knowing is
known about them. I dont think 3A actually raced again but the
dampers certainly were never used again. Not on the 70CV cars
anyway.
If you think they will work, I'll have em! (Thats four steak
sandwiches)
:)
