27th to 29th JUNE - "DRAGSTALGIA" AT SANTA POD RACEWAY

This first post of this topic will be updated as and when
information is received or becomes available.
DATE: 27th to 29th June
VENUE: Santa Pod Raceway near Rushden
STATUS: Endorsed
DESCRIPTION: Static display and dynamic activities (general
practice, sprints, pursuit racing and driving tests) on our own
tarmac arena. We will be part of a headlining vintage themed
event that includes historic drag action on the drag strip, drag
racers static display, fairground, trade stalls, live music,
beer and cider festival, etc.
Last year we had very little notice of this event and so
attendance was just an experiment. This year it will be a major
event for us, and our arena will have much more of a vintage
appearance.

EVENT REGULATIONS: Issued, see attachment below.
COSTS: Approximately £60 to £70 for drivers for full weekend
including camping. Additional drivers slightly less, and less
again for accompanying persons. I have been able to reduce the
price, so please see the entry form
OTHER COMMENTS: Camping available on site

Please can you give an early indication of entering by posting a
% probability of entry, which will allow the club to finalise
the entry fees.
Please can you also indicate if you can fill any of the event
support roles.

Hi all, is anyone else interested in this event, as I need to
set the entry fees for this soon?
Its a great headlining event with lots going on all around the
venue, all weekend including the evenings.
We have our own tarmac live-action arena to play on and there
are lots of activities planned, including team events and
gymkhana style tests in addition to the usual sprints and
pursuit racing.
If you would like to join those of us already planning to go,
please post your probability of attendance ;D

EVENT REGULATIONS AND ENTRY FORM HAVE BEEN ISSUED
The above documents are now available as attachments to the
heading post of this topic (remember to log in to see them).
Ticketing for Santa Pod events are a tad complicated,
consequently there is a wide variety of prices on the entry
form.
Because it is a large headlining event there are entry fees for
additional persons. However, each driver is allowed one support
crew at a reduced rate. Therefore, some drivers may be on their
own and some may have more than one accompanying person. If
this is the case, then maybe second and even third accompanying
persons could be listed as accompanying those attending on their
own. I will be too busy to manage this, so please post a
request on here if you have more than one accompanying person.

DRAGSTALGIA FINAL INSTRUCTIONS
Please be aware there is a blanket ban on glass (beer bottles,
wine bottles, etc) in the venue. Vehicles will be searched on
entry. For those with motorhomes and campervans etc, this may
also include wine glasses, etc.
It looks like we have 14 cyclekarts and 14 drivers for
Dragstalgia, thanks for your support ;D
There will probably be general driving on the Friday after the
track is set up.
We may have some parades similar to those at Malvern. If this
happens, the site speed limit is 10mph, and we will parade at
approximately 5mph, giving way to pedestrians.
For those camping with tents, those of us arriving on the Friday
will try and save some grass area directly opposite the live
action arena by temporarily parking our trailers there.
Steve Hole, the editor of Total Kit Car magazine should be
attending on the Saturday to take photos of the cyclekarts and
take note for a future feature in the magazine.

When will the tickets be issued? I noticed quite few cars on
trailers already going to the Pod.

Just a quick note to say a very big 'thank you' to Ian, Jim and
all the members for a great first experience on track with our
new kart.
Helpful, knowledgeable, encouraging and most, most welcoming.
We have brought the kart home to make a few small repairs and
modifications resulting from our experience on the day. I must
admit that the heat got to us in the end!
What a delightful, sociable and non-judgemental group of people!
We're looking forward to more events to come. Thanks again.
