       Two quick questions?

       Hi all:
Question 1: what sort of ground clearance is normal, within the
bounds of keeping as low as practical?
Question2: We have a pretty short chain run with the driven
sprocket just in front of a torque convertor angled upwards.
What chain lash on the non-tension aide of the chain is ideal?
       TIA!!!

People differ on the first question, as low as is practicable is
what you aim for. For reference, my Auto union is low compared
to many at 2.75" at the floor pan. I have driven it on grass,
concrete and tarmac this season and only grounded it on the
bumpy bits of of the Shuttleworth track (Grass airstrip and
field) I have never grounded it on concrete and tarmac. It has
no rear suspension and at most 1.5" of movement up or down on
       the front.
As for chain lash, I usually work upon as tight as i can and
still be able to deflect the chain by lifting 10mm. I also check
rotation for tight spots and if I find them I loosen the bolts
on the rear sprocket and do my best to cure them using the lash
       on the bolt holes.
