CKGB NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

At the AGM earlier in the year, I asked for a show of hands, to
see if there was any interest in a CKGB National Championship.
As a result of the positive reaction, I have drawn up a very
simple championship format which will be used as an experiment
for the 2024 season.
The Championship details are attached to the bottom of this
post.
I will add a post to this topic for each 2024 event, which will
detail the various Championship competitions for that event.
Where time permits, the competitions will also be included in
the event regulations.
We will just see how it runs and then amend as required to
improve the format for future years. I will manage the
Championship for 2024, but I would be looking for someone else
to take this forward for future years.
Please remember, this is just for fun ;D

RACE THE WAVES COMPETITIONS
There will be two Championship competitions at Race the Waves:

[li]Pursuit Racing.[/li]
[li]]Independent judgment of favourite Cyclekart of the event,
by asking one of the event officials, which 3 (or 4) cyclekarts,
they would want in their garage.[/li]

NATIONAL KIT CAR SHOW
There will be two Championship Competitions:

[li]Best Cyclekart display. This will include the cyclekart,
paddock space (period equipment and paraphinalia), and the
driver (period dress, etc).[/li]

Much of this season is an experiment so that we can develop and
grow the club's activities. One of these experiments is the
"CKGB National Championship" and so far it hasn't really gone to
plan ;)
Unfortunately, there were issues at "Race the Waves" regarding
the setting up of the CKGB arena. Consequently, while we were
able to get some driving in, it was not possible to carry out
any competitions.
We had significantly more success at the National Kit Car show
and managed to carry out a Maybug Sprint plus a pursuit-racing
competition, but no static competition.
Therefore, we are planning to have a couple of static
competitions at Brooklands.
Furthermore, there will be further dynamic (and possibly static)
competitions at Westonzoyland.
All the above means the format of this years championship will
need to be amended and I will give an update on this soon.
In summary, we are making significant progress and gathering
lots of experience, so please bear with us ;D

The 2024 CKGB Events season has now drawn to a close, so other
than some possible regional meets and social gatherings we now
need to start planning for 2025. The CKGB survey has been
issued to gather data regards our members interests and
responses. Therefore, we will take stock of that, when we plan
the 2025 season. A possible National CKGB Championship will be
part of those plans as I reckon we now have sufficient
experience to put together a worthwhile format. I will keep you
posted on progress ;D
