       Fire extinguishers

Now that these are mandatory, and as I had to do a MSUK module
on fire fighting for vehicles at the weekend there is something
I feel the need to pass on.
Dry powder packs when being moved around, for example the
vibration of travelling etc, and must be "unpacked" when at a
potential risk situation eg when you take it to refuelling. Hold
it upside down on your shoulder alongside your ear. You should
hear a whiffling sound as the powder moves toward the head of
the extinguisher. Check the pressure gauge and you are good to
go. If you don't, the worst case is that the extinguisher won't
work. As you go towards the fire give a brief squirt to make
sure the one you have will work.
Lastly and extremely important, don't allow anyone to be in the
stream of extinguishant as breathing the powder can be fatal.

Thanks Rhys, I planned to put something in each events regs
regarding the use of the new extinguishers, so this is a great
       basis :)
