Alfa Romeo build

Here's the start of my build journal, the main 75mmx25mm chassis
rails set out as per a Stevenson design. I've had to move the
rear crossmembers to get the 72 tooth sprocket in.

ERW seams up or seams down?
I wasn't paying attention and have a mix of both, don't think
it's important.

I've put the seams down, I don't think it really matters though.
Although what you see in the picture is the chassis up side down
as I have my axle hanger bearing housings below the box section
(they are 3 bolt triangular ones).
So these would foul on the flat surface.
I will weld up the frame then flip it to carry on with the
engine mounts etc. more photos to follow.

Great to see another Alfa build. Is that three now including
mine?
What are you going to make the body from?
How are you panning to create the louvers?
Good luck ;D

I plan to use 1/2" steel box section to make the body frame,
then rivet an aluminium skin onto that.
Most likely the radiator grille shell and rear body tail/engine
cover will be in fibreglass.
Then I intend to buy pre formed louvre panels and set them into
the aluminium skin.
