Trailer build
By: Moogie38 Date: November 12, 2023, 8:42 am

As I've lost my trailer to my daughter for her fledgling sheep
business it gives me a good excuse to make a purpose build
cyclekart transporter.
First up, draw it up in CAD.

Rear axle is from a Transit Connect which is a drop axle and
should give me a lower bed height.

Old rims from my Jeep XJ and second hand tyres.

Steel has been ordered and should be here shortly.
Plan is to build the trailer so that it can be made into a
double decker at a later date with alloy walls and roof.

Looks good Moogie. May i suggest a triangular shaped tool/spares
box on the draw bar. Look forward to seeing the finished item.
Cheers Nick

I have an old ammo box which is a good size, probably build it
down into the floor.

I'm no farmer, but I thought fledgling sheep were called lambs?

Eventually got a start made to the trailer. Down side to getting
steel at mates rates is you have to wait a little longer for it.

Some progress made today. This thing is starting to get heavy.

Attaching all the angles was a real chore, my back wasn't too
impressed either.

I'm no welder, but I'm quite pleased how my joints turned out.

Back from being galvanised. Added folded mudguards and wired
the lights. Just need to add a jockey wheel and it will be
finished.
