If you’d watched me there wasn’t much finesse. Gettting the
little circling off isn’t easy, hammer and long screwdriver.
Once that was off then a decent pair of pliers and a bit of
twisting and it was off

I came across this alternative way of tackling it, don't know if
it's easier or not, skip to 1.30 for start of removal:

Engine rebuilt, carb fitted. Fuel in tank tomorrow and see if
she will fire up
Then I need to do some grinding to the backplate of my torque
converter

I took the governor out of mine today and combined the
techniques: Crankcase cover off. Use a drift to knock the
central pin in about 1mm. This unseats the circular clip and
the plastic gear pulls straight off.

I had never thought the central pin might move! Does that mean a
google thread has valid information :)

The body is now on. I spent a morning altering the height and
length of the steering column. I haven’t driven it yet within
the body on yet. Still got a few things left to do
Build a better exhaust, fit different jets and adjust the carb,
make the seat

Hello Steve,
Very pretty!
I love white rims? Did you disassemble to paint ?
When I painted mine, I disassembled everything to avoid
splinters of paint on the bolts to adjust the spokes ....
Congratulations on painting the bodywork !

Made the Seats today. Black vinyl that’s pre stitched ( eBay £13
per mtr) 3” high density blue foam ( ebay 60” x 20” x 3” ) £20
stuck the foam to 12 mm ply then wrapped the vinyl and stapled
it on the back. On the seat base I started with a layer of the
thin 10mm dense foam that’s used for floor mats then the 3”
stuff on top. Now fitted in the CycleKart, feels about right
when sitting on it. What’s its going to be like when haring
round a field or track .... who knows eh 😳
