I have a question - I am interested in learning more on how to
work on / maintain my bikes. I have a stand and am trying to
build up my tools - do yo have any advice on basic tools you
should always have?

Here are the important tools to have in your brief case. :o
- Repair stand which holds the bike by the seat post (flipping
the bike upside down does not work)
- Torque wrench 2-15 nm (Important for carbon, pivots, cranks
etc... )
- Pedal Wrench 15mm (with a bit of leverage)
- 3 way allen wrench (4,5,6mm and 2,2.5,3mm)
- Ball end L-allen wrench set (1.5-10mm)
- Torx wrench T25
- Small adjustable wrench (True disc brake rotors)
- Cable cutters
- Dykes
- Screwdrivers (Phillips and Straight, tiny and medium)
- Chain tool
- Chainring nut spanner
- Chain whip
- Cassette lock ring tool
- Chain wear indicator
- Hammer (metal, dead blow combo)
- Tire lever (2)
- Small metric tape measure
- Small flashlight
- Poker (sharpened spoke)
- Utility knife
- Brush (old toothbrush)
- Citrus degreaser
- Isoprophyl alcohol 70% + (clean disc brake rotors)
- Bicycle grease
- T9 (lube cable)
- Chain lube (not WD40!)
Additional tools that would be needed, depending on the
components your working on
- Bottom Bracket tool
- Spoke wrench(s)
- Hub tools (cone wrench set, axle vise)
- Crank extractor (splined, and tapered)
- Folding Torx wrench set
Happy Wrenching
A clean bike...is a happy bike

Bicycle repair class
If I was to put on a Bike Repair clinic, would there be any
interest?
It would be something like 2-3 nights a week for 2-3 hours and
run for 1 month. It would be a small class maybe 4-6 students.
???
