       Christmas Pasta recipe (Rachel Ray)

       This was my go to recipe for years.  My Italian daughter-in-law
       makes a similar pasta sauce.  Every one has a favorite recipe.
       Christmas Pasta
       18 ingredients
       Meat
       1 lb Combined ground beef
       1/2 lb Italian sausage, bulk hot
       1/4 lb Pancetta
       Produce
       1 Bay leaf, fresh or dried
       1 Carrot, medium
       1 Celery, rib
       1 handful Flat leaf parsley, leaves
       4 cloves Garlic
       1 Onion, medium
       2 (32-ounce) cans Style crushed tomatoes, chunky
       Canned Goods
       1 cup Beef stock, prepared
       Pasta & Grains
       2 lbs Penne rigate
       Baking & Spices
       1/4 tsp Allspice or cinnamon
       1 Salt and black pepper, Coarse
       Oils & Vinegars
       2 tbsp Olive oil, extra-virgin
       Bread & Baked Goods
       1 Bread, Fresh crusty
       Dairy
       1 Pecorino romano, Grated
       Beer, Wine & Liquor
       1 cup Red wine, good quality dry
       I frequently combine the meats with an egg and bread crumbs to
       make meatballs for this sauce.  I put the meatballs on a cookie
       sheet and precook them a bit and then add to the sauce to
       finish.
