       Lorraines's Rolls

This is a recipe I've had foe years and I made a cookbook many
years ago for my daughter and she just sent me a photo of the
       recipe.
       Lorraine's Rolls
2/3 cup Crisco or other Shortening
       1 cup sugar
       1 tbsp. yeast
       4 ea eggs, beaten
       1 cup ice water
       1 cup boiling water
       1/2 cup lukewarm water
7 1/2 cups flour, reserve 1/4 cup for kneading
       1 tsp salt
Set yeast in lukewarm water to come up. Cream shortening, sugar
and salt really well. Add 1 cup boiling water and whip in
blender or with mixer until light and creamy. Add yeast and
beaten eggs. Alternate ice water flour as you mix dough. Knead
for five minutes. Cover and put in fridge for one hour. Mix
down and put back in the fridge for one additional hour. Mix
down again, dough is now ready to use. Put a little oil on your
hands when mixing to keep dough from sticking to your hands.
This is enough dough to make a batch of dinner rolls and a batch
       of cinnamon rolls.
Make rolls and put in an oiled pan and pop in oven at 350
       degrees for 20 minutes.
I hope to make a batch of rolls soon to see if they turn out.
The only thing I seem to remember is they really didn't seem to
require being set out to rise before you popped them in the
oven. I used to fix these for family meals. I do remember
pulling the dough out of the refrigerator and putting them in
       the pan and baking.
