It is called working as a team. As a basic EMT that is how we
learn by assisting another EMT even if it is a higher level.
There is nothing wrong with assisting each other.

It is also a great learning point. Yes EMT should be able to do
the prep for ALS. With doing this you learn more about ALS
proceedures and care. I know with riding with AlS personel I
have learned a tremendous amount about Meds, treatments, and
evaluations. It makes you a better EMT.

I believe its a great idea. Anyone working with ALS should be
trained to assist the ALS provider with at least garabbing the
ALS bag, Setting up an IV and and assisting with the monitor.

I think its a great idea for many reasons. We are a team when
running calls . Not only is a great training tool. Its vital in
patient care. There is enough to do for the als provider.
Remembering that we have to stay within the guidelines and als
provider is ok with this. I think doing such things also
promotes bls providers to move forward in their traing.

I think they should be able to. I try to assist as much as I
can. I have set up equipment and monitors for them. When they
are short handed you want to help out as much as you can.
